Privacy Policy
LaunchMCP (“we,” “us”) is a directory and launchpad for Model Context Protocol servers. This policy explains what information we collect when you browse, submit, or launch on the site, what we do with it, and the choices you have.
We try to keep this readable. If anything is unclear, email us at hi@launchmcp.io.
Summary
The short version: we collect what is needed to run a developer directory. That means an account (email, username), the listings and comments you publish, and basic usage signals like page views and upvotes. We do not sell your data. We use a small set of third-party services for hosting, analytics, and email. You can delete your account at any time.
What we collect
We collect three categories of information:
- Account information. When you sign up we store your email address, a username, and (optionally) a display name and avatar. If you sign in with a third-party provider, we receive the basic profile fields that provider sends us.
- Content you submit. Server listings, project links, descriptions, tags, comments, upvotes, and any other content you publish on LaunchMCP. This is intended to be public.
- Usage and device data. Standard server logs (IP address, user agent, referrer, timestamps) and product analytics (pages viewed, search queries, install clicks). We use a guest token cookie to attribute actions before sign in.
How we use it
We use the information above to:
- - Operate the directory, render your listings, and rank servers.
- - Authenticate you and keep your account secure.
- - Send transactional emails (password resets, listing updates, weekly digests if you opt in).
- - Detect spam, abuse, and fraudulent upvotes.
- - Understand which features and pages are useful, and improve them.
We do not use your data to train machine learning models, and we do not sell or rent personal information to third parties.
Data retention
We keep account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to keep it for legal or security reasons (for example, anti-abuse logs). Public content you have published (server listings, comments) may remain visible in an anonymized form if other users have interacted with it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can exercise most of these rights directly from your dashboard, or by emailing hi@launchmcp.io. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe.
Security
We protect your information with industry-standard practices: encrypted transport (HTTPS), encrypted storage for credentials, least-privilege access controls, and monitoring. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we will notify affected users without undue delay if a breach materially affects their data.
Children
LaunchMCP is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product evolves. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top and, where appropriate, notify you by email or an in-product notice. Continued use of LaunchMCP after the changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
